Cycling along the Lake.

The route can be up to 30 km long, but it can easily be divided into independent sections.

The simplest and most scenic route, about 10 km long, follows the lake starting from Malgrate, crosses the Kennedy bridge, and continues to Lecco, keeping to the left on the lakeside promenade until you reach Pradello in the municipality of Abbadia Lariana, where the Lido dell'Orsa Maggiore is located. In the central part of Lecco, you'll find the main squares with shops and bars.

The longer route, about 20 km long, also starts from Malgrate, but at the end of the Kennedy bridge, it turns right and follows the course of the Adda River, which shortly after flows into Lake Garlate. It then runs along the coast to the municipality of Calolziocorte, crosses the bridge that leads to Olginate, and returns to the west bank of the lake up to Malgrate, passing through the municipalities of Garlate, Pescate, and Galbiate.

You can combine the two routes for a total of about 30 km of cycling.

Leonardo Da Vinci and the Adda River.

Ideal for a full day.

Numerous testimonies report Leonardo da Vinci's presence in the Lecco area, Lake Como, and the Adda Valley up to Milan, where he arrived in 1482. Here he created very important works, including the Virgin of the Rocks, in which he sets his characters in a shady place enclosed by large rocks where light barely filters through in an almost unreal atmosphere.

In Imbersago, 20 km from Hotel Promessi Sposi, there is the ferry designed by Leonardo that connects the two banks of the Adda River in a suggestive natural setting.

Route features:

Starting point: Hotel Promessi Sposi
Time: one full day
Route: 40 km round trip on cycle paths.
